End of the Semester Reflection

    My main takeaway from the "Understanding Current and Emerging Pedagogical Technologies" course is the pivotal role that technology plays in our lives, particularly in enhancing educational experiences. This realization has significantly altered my perspective on integrating technology into K to 9 education. Throughout the course, I discovered the profound impact technology can have on student engagement and learning outcomes. I am now committed to incorporating technology into my lesson plans, recognizing its potential to not only increase knowledge but also to keep students actively involved in the learning process.

    During my practicum, I delved into the Smartboard Notebook application, utilizing its features to create interactive slides. This choice allowed me to actively engage students by facilitating collaborative activities on the smart board. Witnessing the positive impact on my students' learning processes reinforced my belief in the efficacy of technology in education.

    Furthermore, I seized the opportunity to contribute to my colleagues' learning experiences by sharing my knowledge of various applications and websites. Additionally, my colleagues provided valuable insights on integrating technology into my lesson plans, demonstrating how it could enhance classroom interactivity and thereby enriching my understanding of the diverse digital tools available.

    As a result, my burning question about the use of digital technologies in K to 9 education has been thoroughly addressed. The course not only equipped me with practical skills but also fostered a collaborative learning environment where sharing knowledge became instrumental in our collective growth.

    Moving forward, I am eager to apply applications and websites I have learned about in my upcoming fourth-year practicum, ensuring a continued integration of technology for an enriched educational experience.
