Coding For Kids - Lesson Plan
Using the Scratch app in this lesson plan has been an eye-opening experience. It not only engages students in a hands-on activity, but it also fosters creativity and problem-solving skills. Including coding skills and technology in lesson plans turns the classroom into a place of creativity and teamwork. This way students learn by doing and exploring, which I believe will have a big positive effect on their learning. In future teaching practice, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of coding and the Scratch app so that I can create enjoyable technology-based activities that captivate and engage students better.
I really like the hook part of your lesson! I think it's a good idea to let students first play the game on scratch to get them familiar with it as they will be creating something similar later in your lesson. I also like how you had students share what they learned on the carpet in the closure of your lesson. I would also like to get a deeper understanding of coding and scratch and I wonder how we can use it for other subjects. Technology based activities are super engaging and fun!
